The Devil's Advocate: Contradictory discussion of clinical trials
introduced by Luciano Potena
taking place on Monday, 14 SEPTEMBER, 11:10 - 12:40

The "Devil's Advocate" session on clinical trials will be an intriguing and lively opportunity to attend to a literal "dissection" of three recently published ground-breaking clinical studies in solid organ transplantation. The first Author will present the study and an opponent will highlight the weaknesses opening up a discussion to which the audience is invited to participate.

The three studies are about liver transplantation in patients with colorectal cancer metastases, everolimus with CNI withdrawal in heart transplantation, and gestational complications in living kidney donors. In this session, not only participants will have the opportunity to increase their knowledge, but also to improve their critical reading frame of a clinical study, and, last but not least, to meet in person the great scents who wrote it.

Personal Invitation by Jan Lerut, ESOT 2015 Brussels, Congress Chair

The Local Organizing Committee, representing all Belgian transplant centres, together with the Scientific Program Committee, have put together an outstanding program!

Specialists from all five continents dealing with all different aspects of organ and tissue donation and transplantation will gather in the 'heart of Europe' to create the biggest networking platform.

The opening session on Sunday September 13 will start with a most important debate about the influence of culture, religion and social environment on organ donation and transplantation.

We are also very proud to have with us Herman Van ROMPUY, past-president European Council, Kevin WARWICK, Cyborg expert, and ESA Astronaut J.F. CLERVOY as keynote speakers.

Based on the record breaking number of almost 1900 submitted abstracts we can already say that ESOT 2015 will indeed be a memorable event in your professional career.

My co-chair Dirk VAN RAEMDONCK and the Belgian transplantation community look forward to seeing you in September in BRUSSELS !
